Château Gazin

Bordeaux > Pomerol - 90.00% Merlot; 7.00% Cabernet Sauvignon; 3.00% Cabernet Franc

Château Gazin once belonged to the Knights Hospitaliers of the Sovereign Order of Saint John (also known as the Knights of Malta). This 26-hectare estate in a single block is located on the upper clay-gravel terrace of the famous Pomerol plateau. The grapes are fermented in cement vats and undergo malolactic fermentation in barrels, prior to ageing for 18 months in oak barrels. The wine is fined with egg white and, if necessary, lightly filtered before château bottling. Average annual production, of which 80% is exported, can reach 80,000 bottles for the grand vin and 20,000 bottles for the second wine. Château Gazin is a member of The Académie du Vin de Bordeaux.
