Château Labegorce, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur

Bordeaux > Margaux - 50.00% Cabernet Sauvignon; 45.00% Merlot; 3.00% Cabernet Franc; 2.00% Petit Verdot

Located on the famous Route des Châteaux, this elegant, neo-classic château overlooks a 100 hectare estate (of which 72 are under vine) as well as the vines of Château Labégorce Zédé. Bordering on Château Margaux and Lascombes, Labégorce was listed in the 1868 edition of “Bordeaux and its Wines” by Edouard Féret, who mentions that the history of the maison de Noble de la Bégorce goes back to 1332. The château is presented as “one of the most beautiful and well sited in the commune of Margaux”. Since he purchased the estate in 1989, Monsieur Hubert Perrodo has given new splendour to the château building, the vineyard, and the cellar, while producing a wine with very beautiful structure and red fruit aromas of great finesse. The acquisition of Château Labégorce Zédé in 2005 is a way reuniting the historical unity of Château Labégorce’s vineyard. This will be fully accomplished at the end of the decade, at which time all the wines will be sold under the same label.
