The El Sequé is pure Monastrell of organically grown vines at an altitude of 600 meters on sandy and clay soils. The wine underwent a malolactic phase and matured for 12 months in 500-liter French oak barrels. This is a great interpretation of Monastrell, a grape they have understood much better in recent years. They use grapes from different soils in different zones, and they believe that this may have made the wine more complex.
The wine is finer, more delicate, less Mediterranean with more fruit and freely accessible. The wine is certainly lighter than the average Mediterranean Monastrell, quite ethereal. The wine has a very good freshness and very fine tannins.
The El Sequé shows harmonious, subtle and elegant, with excellent balance and freshness.
