This wine originates from 40-50-year-old vines located in the "Wolfreben" vineyard plot in the Kaysersberg Valley, between the Clos des Capucins and the village of Kaysersberg. The soil, composed of sandy loam with granite pebbles, contributes to the rapid ripening of the grapes in this terroir, resulting in wines with impressive concentration and power. These high-quality grapes undergo aging for 8-10 months in large, old oak barrels.
The wine reveals an intense nose with aromas of mango, passion fruit, and white flowers. On the palate, the wine's power is evident, beautifully balanced by subtle salinity. The finish is fresh and long-lasting, characterized by gentle tones. With 13 grams per liter of residual sugar, it adds a subtle sweetness to the overall profile.
