Joven stands for young wine, not wood-matured, where fruit, juiciness and light-heartedness are the essence. Guimaro's Joven is no exception. At the base are several steep vineyards, laid out as terraces, with vines that are on average 40 years old.
Those who uncork the bottle are overloaded with red fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine shows a beautiful structure, characteristic of Mencía, and a refreshing acidity on perfectly ripe tannins.
This wine is always a fixed value, and mainly consists of Mencía with about 15% other local red wines (Brancellao, Merenzao, Garnacha Tintorera, Mouratón, Negreda, Sousón, Caíño...) from old vineyards. The wine is young and fermented in stainless steel and was kept in contact with the lees for four to eight months before bottling the wine. The wine has a pale and bright color, which indicates youth. The nose is very expressive and ostentatious. The wine contains a low alcohol content (12.5%) and is light, fresh, fruity and easy to drink.
