Elena Walch is among the top wine estates in Italy, located in Alto Adige. Together with her two daughters, Elena Walch runs the family business and produces high-quality wines that garner international success. The Castel Ringberg and Kastelaz estates form the core of the vineyards, totaling approximately 55 hectares, all of which are single vineyards. Elena's two daughters, Caroline and Julia, have followed in their mother's footsteps and now run this fantastic winery with its own style of wines.
This Pinot Grigio has a light straw yellow color and fruity notes of ripe pears, white pepper, and a hint of sage on the nose. Mineral-salty richness and a crisp acidity are characteristic on the palate. A wine with backbone.
Steep slopes with southeast and southwest orientation between 250 and 600 meters altitude. A interplay of lively mountain and warmer mid-altitude vineyards. Calcareous soils with clay, sand, and porphyry components. Harvested by hand with the utmost care.
An extremely versatile wine for many occasions and interesting pairings: as an aperitif but also as an accompaniment to hearty appetizers and fish dishes.
