The Chardonnay vineyards here are 40 years old and planted on clay calcareous soils. The grapes for this wine come from five different plots of the appellation: Sous la Velle, Poillange, Croix neuve, le Jarron and le Village haut. As a talented winemaker, Alain Gras strives to preserve the freshness and typical properties of the Saint-Romain terroir in its wines. That is why he decides to vinify his wines and ripen them with as little new wood as possible.
The result is an exceptional aromatic intensity and with a special evolution in the glass: fresh citrus, white flowers, fresh herbs, pineapple and juicy pears.
