Elena Walch is among the top wine estates in Italy located in Alto Adige. Together with her two daughters, Elena Walch runs the family business and produces high-quality wines that garner international success. The Castel Ringberg and Kastelaz estates form the core of the vineyards, totaling approximately 55 hectares, all of which are single vineyards. Elena's two daughters, Caroline and Julia, have followed in their mother's footsteps and now run this fantastic winery with its own style of wines.
Traditional fermentation, partially in large Slovenian oak barrels, partially in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows, and the final wine ages for another 12 months in French oak barrels. Since 2015, an ultra-modern fermentation cellar has made it possible to process the grapes with the utmost care.
The Pinot Noir 'Ludwig' presents itself with a full ruby red color and an elegant concentration and complexity. Fresh fruit tones of cherries and red berries, as well as the spicy hint of pepper and elegant roasted notes, characterize the bouquet. On the palate, the wine unfolds its full power and elegance with gripping tannins where the alcohol content of 13.5% blends nicely.
